You are correct. The retail boxed copies of the Collector's Edition had a bunch of goodies which included: • World of Warcraft companion pet (Fetish Shaman) • Starcraft battle portraits (for those with the game) • In-game dyes (exclusive to the CE owners) • In-game toggleable Archangel wings (like the ones Tyrael and the rest of the angels in A4 have) • Likely the reason many people bought the CE: You get a Diablo skull sculpture with a 4gb Flash Drive molded to look like a Soulstone which rested in the middle of the skull. The flash drive came preloaded with Diablo 2 and Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction and included CD keys for the game (which is still like a $20 value in itself, not to mention the amazing flash drive).
This is why a cash economy in a game is a bad idea. There is a huge upside for cheating, virtually no downside, and the people who get screwed are the non-cheating customers. In WoW, plenty of people botted, but it wasn't the same drain on the economy because you couldn't really get anything aside from starter gear on the auction house. Sure it affected the trade skill market and PVP a little, but overall people buying gold or items from botters didn't have much of an advantage over people legitimately playing. Contrast that to Diablo III, where the majority of gear has to be purchased in the auction house, and players who are not botting end up having to spend three times as much time farming to get good gear because of the level of inflation due to gold botters are pouring into the economy.
Let's compare D3 to D2, then, because they are WAY more similar than WoW and D3. If you look at D2, there was thousands of websites online where you could easily buy or sell things, or websites like jsp where you can sell your items for FG and trade it for lots of different things, or buy FG and use it on items just like the rmah. Not having the RMAH would just bring the profits out of blizzards hands and into third party hands. It's not the RMAH fueling this, it's the fact that the players are willing to spend cash on virtual items. With or without it, we still have thousands of players buying and selling items.
A few simple changes were made to improve non decked out char skill usage (for a very limited and specific skill set). Change Log: 1. Added support for usage of Mantra of Salvation. That was just me being modest. It's fundamentally a huge improvement over what is offered, here let me explain why. The build uses Focus and Restraint, as well as Assimilation. My changes force the bot to generate 3 times every 5~ seconds.
